Three IIM-A students get Rs 1 Cr+ pay offers
In spite of the general recession enveloping the global economic scenario, three students of Indian Institute of Management – Ahmedabad have bagged Rs 1 crore-plus pre-placement offers (PPO) each from international financial institutions. Two offers have been made by Deutsche Bank for their Singapore and London offices, while one is from Barclays in Hong Kong. These offers are said to be the highest PPO ever offered on the campus. According to sources, among the 380 students in the current second-year post-graduate programme in management (PGP) at IIM-A, more than 50 have got PPOs from retail and investment banking companies like Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and Nomura. IIM-A director, Samir Barua said that the institute is also looking at sectors and companies that are not known as traditional recruiters at the campus.
