Swine flu has resurfaced in the state and the health authorities informed that 18 patients, of the 69 samples tested at Institute of Preventive Medicine (IPM), have tested positive for swine flu and drug Fluvir is being administered.
The health authorities have informed that so far swine flu has claimed 19 lives in the State of which four of the deceased were from the State capital. Persons who tested positive for swine flu on Thursday are admitted at Gandhi, Chest, Osmania General Hospitals and King Kothi area hospital. A few patients are also admitted at Care Hospitals, Banjara Hills, Aware-Global Hospitals, L. B. Nagar, Rainbow and Yashoda Hospitals.
National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune has cautioned that the second wave of pandemic H1N1 has witnessed a 40 per cent escalation of swine flu infection rate.s
