RTC Drivers Asked to be Cautious During Monsoon
Hyderabad, July 19 (INN): The Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation on Friday issued certain instructions to all its drivers on precautions to be taken during monsoon.
The instructions were issued during a video-conference conducted by RTC MD and Vice-Chairman AK Khan on Friday at Bus Bhavan with the Executive Directors and Regional Managers of various zones and regions of APSRTC. In view of monsoon and to avoid occurrence of accidents, drivers have been asked to check the head lights, brakes, wipers, tail lights, etc., thoroughly, before the journey.
Further, while driving the bus on the roads situated at low level causeways and rivulets overflowing with rain water, the drivers have been asked to ascertain the depth, speed of the water currents and condition of the road and then only drive the bus keeping in mind the safety of the passengers.
The DMs have been asked to ensure that every should recite “Bhadrata Sukthi” before proceedings on duty every day. It is also suggested that due to rains there is a possibility of failure of brakes, skidding of vehicles, hence drivers should go at a slow speed. The drivers were asked not try to cross narrow culvert or bridge in the face of the traffic (coming in opposite direction).
The officials have been asked to sensitise each and every driver including hire bus driver by the Traffic In-Charge (Not less than the rank of Dy Suptd (T)) of the Depot before they proceed on duty. The drivers have been asked to be emphatic on the need for cautious driving and precautionary measures to be taken during monsoon season.
