Muslims have Iftar in Ganesh pandal in Hyderabad
In a rare show of unity and religious tolerance, around 500 Muslims broke their Ramzan fast at an iftar inside the Ganesh pandal hosted by the Kabirnagar-Motinagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti in Hyderabad.
Representatives of the Utsav Samiti offered fruits, dry fruits, fried rice and other vegetarian dishes to their Muslims friends during the iftar party.
K. Gopala Reddy, president of the Ganesh Utsav Samiti and Shaik Mohinuddin, the president of Kabirnagar-Poppalaguda Masjid committee said they were happy to organize the iftar in the Ganesh Pandal as bith festivals, VInayak Chathurthi and Ramzan, have occurred at the same time.
Reddy and Mohinuddin said that this gesture will strengthen the religious harmony between the two communities.
