The footage from six CCTV cameras fitted at Zaveri Bazar and Opera House in Mumbai is being viewed by the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) to get clues and leads into the blast case. The footage is being scanned with the help of the forensic experts.
The CCTV cameras footage is voluminous and the images will have to be seen in a slow replay mode as both scenes of crime are overcrowded the whole day. ATS chief Rakesh Maria said it will take some time to study the footage and there is a special software which helps zoom in much more so that the images are more clear.
The Mumbai crime branch had recently used cyber experts and the Forensic Science Laboratory to zoom in on shooters in the J Dey murder case. In an earlier case of the Indian Mujahideen, the crime branch had got its first leads from CCTV cameras at the Navi Mumbai toll naka.
