Two drivers of the New Delhi- Bhubaneswar Rajdhani Express were kidnapped by Maoists between Jhargram and Sarna stations of the South Eastern Railway near Midnapur in West Bengal today afternoon.
Pro-Maoists group PCPA has claimed responsibility for the attack stating that the train drivers had defied the bandh call. The PCPA is demanding the release of their leader Chhatradhar Mahato from the police custody for returning the train drivers safely.
The passengers in the train are stranded and South Eastern Railway authorities are making alternate arrangements to run the Rajdhani Express. Security forces are being deployed for the safety of the passengers.
