Indian Navy nabs 23 sea pirates
Indian Navy warship INS Mysore on Saturday repulsed a pirate attack on an Ethiopian merchant vessel in the Gulf of Aden and nabbed 12 Somali and 11 Yemeni sea pirates.
The pirates on two speed boats had surrounded the merchant vessel and fired at it with their small arms. Responding to the rescue call from the ship, the Indian warship moved its Marine Commandos on an helicopter to help the distressed cargo vessel.
The Naval commandos boarded the speed boats of the pirates and seized seven AK-47 assault rifles, a grenade launcher and 13 fully loaded magazines of ammunition.
