Over two decades, Andhra Pradesh has been witnessing a rising urban population and the growth of urban areas, both in number and geographical area as well. All put together, today the strength of Greater Hyderabad is roughly more than 80 lakhs. By 2015, population of our city of pearls is expected to cross 1 Crore mark.
According to the research conducted by The Energy and Resources Institute University, Indian cities have witnessed the highest growth for any urban cluster in the world. India’s population rose to 1.21 billion in 2011, in a decade, with 35% of it living in cities – meaning the fastest urbanization in the past 5 decades.
At the top of the list were Delhi and Mumbai.
