Government revises cinema ticket rates

The State Government has revised ticket rates for upper class viewers in about 1,600 theatres in the state. Now movie buffs will have to shell out Rs 60 in Air Conditioned theatres in contrast to Rs 50 being charged at present, Rs 55 in air-cooled theatres. The mid-level Rs 35 tickets will now cost Rs 40. The Rs 6 and 10 tickets remain untouched. It’s going to benefit big producers, who had been pressuring the government to hike ticket rates and upcoming big-budgeted films like
Dookudu and Sriramarajyam are going to reap the benefits first. Though small producers are worried that people may not visit theatres to watch films due to exorbitant ticket prices, it gives some relief to theatres to get some money even for small films as well
