Fire accident in AP High Court

A major fire broke out in the second and third floors of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. The fire started around 0400 hours in the morning and was controlled by Fire service personnel after a couple of hours.

The lawyers library, Chambers of the Chief Justice and eight other judges, conference hall were gutted in the fire. The fire spread quickly because of the paper files and wooden racks where they were kept. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.

The Chief Justice of AP High Court and state government ministers visited the High Court premises. According to High Court sources, no records were damaged as they are housed in a different building. The High Court will be closed for two days for repairs.
