Bomb blasts in Assam 61 dead 470 injured
Suspected Bangladesh-based HuJI terrorists struck in Assam when serial bomb blasts ripped through commercial areas of capital Guwahati and three other districts on Thursday, killing 61 people and injuring 4700 others.
The first of the 13 bombs went off simultaneously around 11.30 am under the Ganeshguri flyover, near the high-security capital complex housing the Assembly building, Paltan Bazar and Fancy Bazar in the capital.
Around the same time, bombs also went off in crowded market places of Kokrajhar, Bongaigaon and Barpeta districts in lower Assam.
Red alert has been declared all over the country. The Union Home Minister held a top level security meeting in Delhi to take stock of the blasts.
