Anil Ambani questioned by CBI in 2G scam
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) which is probing the 2G spectrum scam questioned Anil Ambani, chairman of Reliance ADAG, in connection with the alleged role of his company in promoting Swan Telecom.
The questioning was on the issue of awarding licenses for CDMA-based mobile service under Unified Access Service to four companies, including Reliance Communications.
The CBI is also probing the links between Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Balwa with Reliance Telecom as Swan Telecom, which got 2G licences, appeared to be acting as a front for Reliance Telecom.
RCom has denied the CAG report which had calculated that RCom had a 10.71 per cent participating interest in Swan.
The CBI will also question some more top brass of the telecom companies which had been given 2G spectrum liscences.
