Tendulkar official ambassador for World Cup 2011

Sachin Tendulkar was named the official ambassador of ODI World Cup 2011.

As official ambassador, Tendulkar will be asked to promote and support a variety of ICC initiatives for the tournament, which is the third biggest sporting event in the world and will take place in Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka from February 19 to April 2, 2011.

Tendulkar has scored 14,292 runs in 172 Tests, while amassing 17,598 in 442 ODIs. He is set to become only the second player in the history of cricket to play six ODI World Cups.
