Anil Ambani’s Reliance Communications (RCom) on Tuesday unveiled its nationwide GSM mobile service across 11,000 towns to cover one billion people.
The rollout, in which an investment of Rs 10,000 crore has been made, makes RCom the only national player to offer both CDMA and GSM services to customers. In select regions, BSNL and MTNL also offer similar services.
Through the GSM launch, RCom plans to usher in customer-friendly services in terms of pricing, proposition, value added services. These will, however, vary from circle to circle. The strategy for each circle will be tailor-made, depending on competition.
