Raaz The Mystery Continues Movie Review
A stylishly made horror film that really makes you shudder with supernatural thrills.
The story deals with three characters — model Nandita ( Kangana Ranaut), director of a television program, Yash ( Adhyayan Suman) and an artist, Prithvi (Emraan Hashmi).
Prithvi is an introvert personality totally involved in his paintings. He starts painting the portraits of Nandita and he observes that those paintings are vandalized just like that. He senses something amiss. He tracks down Nadita and tells her about an impending disaster that may befall on her.
Nandita does not believe this at first, but as inexplicable events and experiences unfold, she had to keep away from his boy friend Yash and face the supernatural forces.
The rest of the story deals with Nandita’s battle with the unknown and unseen spirit.
Kangana Ranaut gives her best on screen performance thus far and her character is utterly believable. She impresses with the horror sequences, particularly when she is attacked by the spirit force. Emraan Hashmi gives a very mature and expressive essay of his role as a painter.
Adhyayan Suman is a real surprise. He came out with a very confident and convincing performance. Jackie Shroff in his cameo is his usual self.
Mohit Suri has a credible story line and the screenplay by Shagufta Rafique is absorbing. Some of the scenes and sequences visualized and executed in the film are breathtaking. Suri handled the horror parts like a past master.
Cinematography is exciting and visually delightful adding to the chills of narration. Audiography and the music are good and add to the flow of narration. Editing has enhanced the horror elements. The production values are high and qualitative.
Raaz…the Mystery Continues is a slick and stylish horror flick that can be seen for the enthralling performances of Kangana, Hashmi and Adhyayan plus the superb directorial skills of Mohit Suri.
