Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party and the Congress are working out a poll alliance to contest the ensuing elections to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. Both parties are closeted with their respective core committees to identify the seats to be shared and the selection of suitable candidates.
PRP chief Chiranjeevi discussed with his party’s political affairs committee (PAC) members and other senior leaders at his house soon after his arrival from Kerala where he underwent Ayurvedic treatment for muscle pains. The Congress held its core committee meeting at the residence of PCC chief D Srinivas, who announced that both parties had arrived at a broad consensus on the alliance and nothing concrete had come about on the issue of seat sharing.
The final list is likely to be announced on November 4. It is now being stated that the Congress will not have any pre-poll alliance with MIM.
