Permission denied for using horses in NTR Jr’s Dammu
The Animal Welfare Board of India is taking a very serious view on the purported mistreatment of the animals during shooting of films. It is now mandatory to obtain a pre-shooting permission and NOC from the Board after the shooting under Performing Animals (Registration) Rules-2011.
Recently, the makers of Ntr jr starrer Dammu were denied permission to use pigeons in the background of a fight sequence. Permission for the use of four horses for the same film was denied because the film company didn’t disclose how it would transport the horses from Chennai to Hyderabad.
The Board is also denying permission for use of bulls in films as they are not performing animals. However, permission has been granted for using dogs in movies such as Lovely, Thimmaraju and Life Is Beautiful.
