Puri Jagannath’s Nenu Naa Rakshasi, as narrated by him in Promos is a story of girl (Meenakshi) who wants to commit suicide and a professional killer (Abhi), who happens to be silent lover of Meenakshi.
IN AND OUT:
This marquee deals with sensitive issue of Suicidal cases by capturing the moments of the people while they are attempting to kill themselves. Puri Jagannath has used social media website (YouTube.com) as part of his story execution. Each character in the movie designed by Puri, will have some problems and is humiliated by fellow beings. Puri also showcased how false propagandas propelled by Media and inabilities of our system effect common man’s life.
Nobody is an exception in this movie to attempt suicide, including protagonist Abhi (Rana) and his love Meenakshi (Illeana). Every character has its own reasons for doing this act.
Abhi (Rana) a professional shooter after completing his job (Killing people), sees Meenakshi (Illeana) in a cemetery and falls in love with her at first sight and from that time he follows her. Meenakshi is being eve teased by another guy and Abhi kills that guy by choice again. On the other side Abhi gets closed to a baby girl (Baby Anjali), his neighbour’s (Subba Raju) daughter, who is suffering from Cancer. One day Abhi gets a job assignment to kill this baby girl. Whether abhi kills baby girl, what are consequences that framed Abhi to get this assignment and whether Meenakshi accepts his love, forms rest of the story.
Why Abhi (Rana) became a professional killer who happens to be a professional shooter has been handled very well and the narration part where in Meenaskhi (Illeana) wants to attempt suicide even though Abhi proposes her, is dragged little bit.
Like other Puri movies this too has separate comedy track between Ali and Mumaith Khan, but is not catchy. Antoganist Ratna played by Abhimanyu Singh is worth mentioning and is worth watching. Subba Raju has different shades to his role, as a father to a baby girl who is nearing to death and a disciplined police officer.
Background score by Anup Rubens is new and it gets the mood. Music is good. Vayyari song gets some applause from audience. Dialogues by Puri are good and are different as always. Cinematography tops.
Illeana is more beautiful than in any other movie and so her acting. RANA acted exceptionally well. After getting good reviews from Leader and Dum Maaro Dum for his acting, he scores top in this marquee too. Baby Anjali acting is cute and so her smile. Thanks to Puri for the dialogues given to Baby Anjali character.
First half of the movie is smooth, and before the interval there are couple of twists and the interval scene establishes actual Rakshasi. Second half of the movie is little dragged and is dull in pieces.
On the whole Nenu Naa Rakshasi is a good movie from Puri Jagannath and is worth watching.
