The saga of Bollywood remakes of Tollywood continues unabated. The latest to join the list is Mahesh Babu’s blockbuster film Okkadu (2003) directed by Gunasekhar.
Boney Kapoor has recently acquired the Hindi remake rights from MS Raju and Boney’s son Arjun Kapoor will reprise the role of Mahesh in the original. The Hindi remake will be directed by Prabhu Dheva.
Presently, pre-production works are in progress and the film will go on floors in the first quarter of 2013, by which time Prabhu Deva will also wrap up his Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana Hindi remake.
Arjun Kapoor made an impressive screen debut with Ishaqzaade. He is presently shooting for Yash Raj Films Aurangzeb. He is also signed up for YRF’s Gunday and Sajid Nadiadwala’s 2 States.
