After releasing the First trailer of Heroine, director Madhur Bhandarkar says no comparisons must be made between his film and The Dirty Picture though they deal with the same theme — the fate, rise and fall of an actress.
Bhandarkar said: “I liked The Dirty Picture. The film was about the rise of an item girl in the 1980s. Our film is more modern in its approach. The two films are very different and you cannot compare them. There have been so many films based on underworld. Also so many cop films have come like Singham and Dabangg, but no one compares them.”
The star cast of the film includes Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda, Kanika Dhillon, Shahana Goswami, Ranvir Shorey, Shilpi Sharma, Helen, Divya Dutta, Mugdha Godse and Govind Namdev. Music for the film is composed by Salim-Sulaiman.
Produced by Bhandarkar Entertainment and UTV Motion Pictures, Heroine, is scheduled for release on September 21.
