India trounced Sri Lanka by 170 runs on the fourth day to level the three-match Test series 1-1 on Sunday.
India set Sri Lanka a modest target of 307. Then Ishant Sharma (3/20) and Harbhajan Singh (4/51) cut through the home team for a paltry 136. The fourth day’s play saw as many as 16 wickets fall.
It was a remarkable comeback by the Indians who were beaten comprehensively by an innings and 239 runs in the first Test in Colombo.
The teams will now play the 3rd test, the decider of the series, at Colombo beginning on August 8.
