Virender Sehwag struck a swashbuckling 91 in 73 balls as India secured a clinical six-wicket victory over England in the fifth One-Day International at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack on Wednesday.
Riding on Kevin Pietersen’s unbeaten 111, England scored a challenging 270 but India made light of the target winning the match with 38 balls to spare and six wickets in hand.
Sachin Tendulkar (50), skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni (50) and Suresh Raina (54 not out) contributed to India’s total. India now leads the seven-match series by a margin of 5-0.
The last two ODIs are to be played in Guwahati and Delhi.
