With a swashbuckling 150 by Gambhir and 94 by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, India put up an imposing total of 332 for 5 in the allotted 50 overs. The Sri Lankans were bowled out for 265 in 48 overs to take a 4-0 lead in the 5-match ODI series. India also has a new record of 9 ODI wins on the trot.
Irfan Pathan, playing his first match in the series, emerged as the most successful bowler with 3 wickets while Virender Sehwag and Praveen Kumar took 2 wickets apiece.
The 5th and last match of the ODI series will be played on Sunday at the Sinhalese Sports Club and the tour will come to an end on February 10 with a Twenty20 match.
