Dhoni’s Team India registered a 10-wicket victory in the first test match against New Zealand on the fourth day at Seddon Park, Hamilton.
This test win comes after a long time. The last time India won a test in New Zealand was in 1976.
New Zealand were all out for 279 in their second innings helped by contributions from BB McCullum (84), DR Flynn (67) and MJ Guptill (48). Harbhajan Singh took 6 wickets for 63 runs.
Gambhir and Dravid scored the required 39 runs for a win in 5.2 overs.
Sachin Tendulkar, who scored 160 and his 42nd century, has been declared the man of the match and he has dedicated his century to the Tiger Conservation programme in India.
