India routs Australia in 4th test wins series
India on Monday improved its status as a dominant force in world cricket when they routed world cricket by 172 runs in the 4th and final cricket Test to regain the Border-Gavaskar trophy after a gap of four years.
After setting the visitors an almost impossible target of 382 for victory, the Indians exploited a turning 5th day track to skittle out the Aussies for 209 just before the tea break to wrap up the four-match series with a 2-0 margin.
It turned out to be a perfect gift for Sourav Ganguly by his teammates in his farewell Test. With this win, India is now in the second position in the ICC Test Rankings.
Australian off-spinner Krejza was declared the Man of the Match and India’s fast bowler Ishant Sharma was the Man of the Series.
