Sachin Tendulkar scored his 45th test century (143) in the first innings of the second test at Mirpur. “Wall” Rahul Dravid compiled his 29th test ton (111 retired hurt) as India made 495 for 5 at stumps on the second day. The 103-run opening stand between Gautam Gambhir (68) and Virender Sehwag (56) provided the necessary impetus to the Indians. Mahendra Singh Dhoni was batting at 22 at stumps and Yuvraj Singh is due ar the crease tomorrow morning. The visitors are 226 runs ahead of their hosts with five wickets in hand.
Gambhir equaled another record that of Vivian Richards by scoring his 11th consecutive test fifty. The 222-run third wicket stand between Tendulkar and Dravid is their record 17th century partnership.
