Winning the toss India elected to bat and scored 363 for 5 in the allotted 50 overs. Sehwag and Yuvraj Singh scored centuries. When Yuvi was caught by Kapugedera with his individual score at 117, Muralitharan got the 502th wicket of his ODI career.
Before the 5-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka concludes, Murali has every chance to break this record and remain the top wicket taker in ODIs. He is already the highest wicket taker with 769 wickets in test matches also.
