MLA from Parkal constituency in Warangal district and Women Development and Child Welfare Minister in the Andhra Pradesh government Konda Surekha submitted her resignation to Governor N.D. Tiwari on Thursday.
Surekha, a vocal supporter of Kadapa MP Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy’s appointment as the Chief Minister, said that the party had not yet convened a meeting of the Congress Legislature Party to adopt a resolution condoling the death of YSR although two months had elapsed since his demise.
Describing her resignation as a purely personal decision, Surekha said she did not resign under anyone’s influence. In fact, she did not inform Jagan or K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao about her decision. She would remain as MLA to fulfill the aspirations of the people in her constituency.
