Babu, Maya and Karat to bolster UNPA
The UP Chief Minister and BSP supremo, Mayawati, spoke to Telugu Desam president, Chandrababu Naidu, on Sunday and expressed her willingness to work with the UNPA and the Left.
This development took place after the CPI(M) general secretary Prakash Karat, struck a deal with the Mayawati, to work together to split the Congress and the Samajwadi Party to defeat the government in the coming confidence vote in Parliament. All these three leaders are likely to meet here on Saturday, three days before the Parliament vote. Ms Mayawati also spoke to INLD, leader Om Prakash Chautala. The Marxists are also in touch with the Janata Dal (United), which is in the NDA.
With this new partnership, the confidence motion could take an interesting turn, with the UPA and SP together not being sure of adequate numbers to sail through.
