The Film
Dabangg is a well made commercial entertainer with Salman Khan dominating the proceedings with his charm, wit and action.
The Synopsis
Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) has a difficult childhood as his father died and has a step father Prajapati Pandey (Vinod Khanna) and a step brother Makhanchan (Arbaaz Khan). He is devoted to his mother (Dimple Kapadia). The entry of Rajo (Sonakshi Sinha) changes the life of Chulbul.
Chulbul grows up to become a courageous but corrupt police officer. He has to contend with Cheddi Singh (Sonu Sood) who plays the Makhanchan card against Chulbul. Once the step brother realises that he is being unfairly used, things take a different turn. The rest of the story deals with how Chulbul is able to subdue his detractors.
The Performances
It is Salman Khan all the way and he carries his role with aplomb. Sonakshi is impressive. Dimple, Vinod Khanna and Arbaz acquit themselves well. Om Puri, Anupam Kher, Tinnu Anand and Mahesh Manjrekar are their usual selves. All others carry their roles well.
