Balki’s Big B in “Paa” is Progeria prone
Amitabh Bachchan, the living legend of Indian Cinema, plays the most challenging role of his career in filmmaker Balki’s “Paa”, where he is playing a character diagnosed with Progeria also known as Hutchinson-Gilford progeria syndrome which is an extremely rare genetic condition wherein symptoms resembling aspects of ageing are manifested at an early age.
Bachchan plays Auro a 13-year-old who actually looks 25 odd years older than himself because he has Progeria.
While promoting the film along with its stars Abhishek Bachchan and Vidya Balan at an Andheri cinema hall in Mumbai on Wednesday evening, Balki said: “This is a family drama where incidentally Amitabh Bachchan, who is suffering from progeria, plays the role of Abhishek’s son. This movie is not about educating people on progeria but an emotional story about a father and son.”
“Paa” is releasing on November 13.
