Virender Sehwag remained unbeaten on 284 (in 239 balls) as India, replying to Sri Lanka’s first innings total of 393, made 443 for 1 at close on second day’s play. Rahul David (62 not out) is keeping company to Sehwag.

Sehwag plundered runs at will as he not only notched up his 17th Test ton, his sixth 200 plus total and completed 6000 runs in Test cricket.

The Indians got off to a good start with Sehwag and Murali Vijay (87) scoring 221 for the first wicket. The unbroken second wicket partnership between Sehwag and Dravid yielded so far 222 runs.
