Yesudas gets Symphony TV lifetime award

Playback singer K.J. Yesudas has been selected for the lifetime achievement award of Symphony TV for 2010 for his outstanding contributions to the Indian music world.

The award, carrying prize money of Rs. 1 lakh, citation and memento, would be presented to Yesudas by Jnanpith laureate O.N.V. Kurup at a function to be held on October 2. T.K.A. Nair, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, would be the chief guest of the event.

Earlier recipients of lifetime achievement award of Symphony TV are P. Bhaskaran, O.N.V. Kurup, K.P.P. Nambiar, K.P. Udhayabhanu and M.K. Arjunan.
