Yash Chopra wins Asian Filmmaker award
Bollywood director and producer Yash Chopra who made films like Daag (1973), Kabhi Kabhie(1976), Doosra Aadmi(1977), Noorie(1979), Kaala Pathar(1979), Silsila (1981) among others is the founder of Yash Raj Films. In the recent years the banner has produced films like Dil To Pagal Hai, and Veer-Zaara, will be honoured as the Asian Filmmaker of the Year award at one of Asia’s biggest film events, South Korea’s Pusan International Film Festival which will be held from October 8 to 16 in the South Korean southern port city.
The festival will screen several films he directed or produced, including the 1991 movie Lamhe, also known as Moments. Previous winners of the award include Hong Kong actor and producer Andy Lau and the late Taiwanese director Edward Yang.
