Will Priyamani Get National Award For Charulatha?
The Trilingual Kannada, Tamil and Telugu film Charulatha is releasing tomorrow (September 21) and is eagerly awaited as priyamani, for the first time in Indian cinema, playing the roles of conjoined twin sisters.
The trailers of the film show how Priyamani carries herself with consummate ease in a very challenging double role. Unit sources say that the actress has given such a tremendous performance that she may get another National Film Award for Best Actress. She had won her first award for her role as Muthazhagu in the 2006 Tamil film Paruthi Veeran (Malligadu in Telugu).
Charulatha is a horror film directed by Ponkumaran, a former associate to K. Bhagyaraj and K. S. Ravikumar and is an official adaptation of the 2007 Thai film titled Fad (Alone in English version) directed by Banjong Pisanthanakun and Parkpoom Wongpoom.
The film is produced by Ramesh Krishnamoorthy (Tamil), Dwarakeesh (Kannada) and Allu Aravind (Telugu).
