Vikram Uses Human Echolocation In Thandavam

Vikram plays a blind man in his upcoming film titled Shiva Thandavam in Telugu which is directed by AL Vijay. He had earlier played a blind man in Kasi.

But, in Shiva Thandavam, Vikram’s character uses Human Echolocation for which he underwent a training session with Daniel Kish, an internationally renowned expert of human echolocation.

For the uninitiated, human echolocation is the ability of humans to detect objects in their environment by sensing echoes from those objects. By actively creating sounds – for example, by tapping their canes, lightly stomping their feet or making clicking noises with their mouths – people trained to orientate with echolocation can interpret the sound waves reflected by nearby objects, accurately identifying their location and size.

This ability is used by some blind people for acoustic wayfinding, or navigating within their environment using auditory rather than visual cues. It is similar in principle to active sonar and to the animal echolocation employed by some animals, including bats, dolphins and toothed whales.

Shiva Thandavam is produced by UTV Motion Pictures and has Anushka Shetty, Amy Jackson, Lakshmi Rai as the leading ladies.
