Vikram, who exhibited such masterful acting skills in director Shankar’s Aparichithudu, will be seen in Mallanna in 12 roles. He is also in Maniratnam’s contemporary take on Ramayana, though the film does not contain any mythological portions.
Maniratnam’s film is simultaneously made in Hindi and Tamil. The Tamil version will be dubbed into Telugu and Malayalam. All the four versions will be released world-wide on the same date.
Interestingly, Vikram plays the hero in the Tamil version titled Ashokavanam and plays the villain in the Hindi version titled Raavana, where Abhishek Bachchan is the hero.
This film completed its schedule of shooting in Kerala and now shifted to Kolkota. This fifteen-day shooting will take place at a jute mill in Agarpara.
