Director Vikram Bhatt, whose forthcoming film Raaz 3 is releasing on September 7, says that this film has bipasha basu playing the role of a top heroine and her number one slot is challenged by another upcoming heroine played by Esha Gupta.
Vikram says that it is true in Bollywood since the female actors who play heroines have a shelf life, while the heroes do not have that career block. He says 47 year old Aamir Khan can play a college student in 3 idiots, but no one will accept Madhuri Dixit playing a college going girl. Forty plus heroes romance teenaged girls on screen and get away with it. But a 40 plus actress is offered only sister or mother roles.
In Raaz 3, emraan hashmi plays the role of a film director, who opts for younger Esha Gupta for a film, while the reigning top star Bipasha Basu frets and fumes.
Mahesh Bhatt, who has produced this film, says Raaz 3 contains episodes derived from a slice of the lives of Bipasha Basu, Vikram Bhatt and writer Shagufta Rafique.
