Akhil is the latest young hero from the Akkineni clan. He made his debut into the Telugu through a film with the title ‘Akhil’. However, it was proved the biggest disaster of the year. In this backdrop, Akkineni Nagarjuna, who is gaining strong film after film and bagged a hat-trick recently with ‘Oopiri’. His earlier films ‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’ and ‘Manam’ were also big hits. During the success meet of ‘Oopiri’ Nagarjuna announced that he would concentrate on his sons’ film careers. There was a gossip in the media that Vamsy Paidipally, who had directed ‘Oopiri’, will take the reins of direction for Akhil’s second movie. Vamsy is known for mixing different kinds of elements perfectly and he is also known for catching the pulse of class and mass audiences. Nagarjuna and Akhil have decided to remake the successful Bollywood movie ‘Ye Jawani, Hey Diwani’. But Vamsy Paidipally is of the opinion that if he again takes a remake movie, he would be branded as a director who could do only remake films because his earlier film ‘Oopiri’ is also a remake of a French movie. So, he refused to take up the remake, instead wanted to do a story penned by him. But Nag and Akhil insisted on the remake. Then, Vamsy quietly walked out of the project, it is reliably learnt. Now, Vamsy is planning to do a film either with Ram Charan or Young Tiger NTR. Now, the Akhil’s second movie issue came to square one. It may be recalled here that Vamsy did ‘Yevadu’ with Ram Charan and ‘Brindavanam’ with NTR earlier.
