Transgender Community Shows Extreme Anger on Filmmaker Shankar
On Saturday, a group of transgender staged a protest in front of Shankar’s house.
Shankar’s “I” has earned the wrath of a group of transgender here after they found objectionable scenes about their community in his latest Tamil magnum opus.
Ojas M. Rajani, a transgender is upset with the way Shankar has portrayed the character essayed by popular make-up artist.
In the film, Rajani lusts over actor Vikram and this has not gone down well with many people.
A popular transgender TV personality Rose Venkatesan told “We want Shankar to remove those scenes from the film. It belittles our community and we plan to lodge an official complaint on Monday with the police. If required, we don’t even mind taking the legal recourse”.
Rose has sought the support of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender community (LGBT).
Rose said “the way Shankar has portrayed Ojas’s character makes us look like some sex-starved individuals. We are in talks with the members of LGBT community to decide the next course of action”.
“I” also features Amy Jackson and Upen Patel.
