Tom Cruise Film To Create 500 New Jobs In UK
A new Tom Cruise blockbuster, which would be filmed at a UK studio, is set to create 500 new jobs,
All You Need Is Kill, a sci-fi thriller also starring Emily Blunt, will be made at Warner Brothers’ 100 million pound studios at Leavesden near Watford, which is home to some of the biggest film franchises ever created, including James Bond, Star Wars and Harry Potter.
The film, based on a Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, is described as a sci-fi version of the superhit film Groundhog Day, in which Cruise will star as a futuristic soldier who becomes caught in a time loop on his last day in battle as he fights a group of invading aliens.
George Osborne, Chancellor of the Exchequer of the United Kingdom, announced the project as he appealed to technology firms to invest in the UK as part of the latest in a series of Olympic-inspired business summits.
