Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav is in trouble these days. Now he has filed a proposal in the Delhi High Court to settle the loan which he had taken from a businessman here.
Rajpal said to a bench of justices Geeta Mittal and PS Teji, “I have to payback Rs 3.42 crore while have already paid Rs 1.58 crore. I have got a fresh offer from a company which has agreed to take up my liablity of the loan.”
Counsel for the actor revealed the proposal to the bench but they didn’t share it with senior actor Dayan Krishnan who is representing the lender M G Agrawal who is a Delhi-based businessman and owner of Murli Projects.
Yadav’s counsel declared, “He (Yadav) is facing an unique problem that whenever he approaches a financer, they say that they have also been approached by the other party for not paying him.”
Yadav’s counsel said to the bench that the actor can pay the money within 30 days. Senior advocate Krishnan said that earlier also Rajpal promised the court that he will pay the debt after he finishes with his film ‘BHOPAL: A prayer for. But he failed to do so till now.
Krishnan said, “He is not going to give any undertaking that he will pay the money, he gets for acting in a movie or how much he is being paid by the producers of a movie. He is just buying time of the court.”
The Bench declared, “We will hear the matter. Put it for further hearing on March 24.”
The court was hearing an appeal filed by Yadav against the single judge’s order for sending him to jail for 10 days for misleading the court in a recovery suit filed against him and his wife by the businessman.
Last year on September 23, the High Court demanded details of Yadav’s income after the release of his film ‘Ata Pata Laapata’ which he directed in 2012.
