Tollywood producers want share in downloads

Around thirty Tollywood producers, including D Suresh Babu, Burugupalli Sivaramakrishna, Aswini Dutt, C. Kalyan, Anil, Gemini Kiran, Dil Raju and Allu Arvind, met recently and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to set up a corporate entity through which they can protect their interests and ensure that they get their fair share from TV channels, music companies and websites that are making crores from their films.

It is felt that Telugu producers are losing crores of rupees since film-makers have been “individually” negotiating with music companies, websites and channels for satellite rights.

The new corporate entity of Tollywood producers will negotiate the music and satellite rights of the films which will have a clause entitling the producers a share in downloads and telecasting film content.
