Telangana Activists Vandalise Puri Jagannath’s Office And Dil Raju’s House
The screening of Pawan Kalyan starrer Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu was suspended across the Telangana region on Friday after a few TRS activists ransacked theatres in Hyderabad and four other Telangana districts in protest against what they called the “portrayal of the region and Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leaders in bad light”.
Police arrested 16 T-activists for vandalising the office of the film’s director Puri Jagannadh situated at Road N0o36, Jubilee Hills. Some miscreants damaged the house of Dil Raju in Srinagar colony. He is the distributor of the film in Telangana region (Nizam area in Tollywood parlance).
“Some characters in the film suggest that the people identified with the Telangana movement and those who adore Telangana Talli are not entitled to hoist the national flag and sing the national anthem. The film propagates anti-national sentiments and therefore we seek its ban,” said D Shravan, TRS politburo member.
