Tamanna Confirmed In Sajid Khan’s Himmatwala
Hattrick director Sajid Khan has confirmed the casting of Tamanna as the female lead opposite Ajay Devgn in the remake of 1983 Jeetendra-Sridevi starrer Himmatwala which was directed by K Raghavendra Rao.
Initially, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma were approached, but they have date problems. Since Ajay Devgn’s hit film Singham had Kajal Agarwal, she was also approached but she is busy with half a dozen films in Telugu and Tamil. Finally it was Tamanna who was signed up.
In the original Himmatwala, Sridevi played a tyrant brandishing a whip. But the remake has an entirely different characterisation for the heroine unlike the original. However, Tamanna will dance to the remix of the popular song of the original…Nainon mein sapna.
In fact, Tamanna Bhatia, born and brought up in Mumbai, made her screen debut in Bollywood with the film Chand Sa Roshan Chehra in 2005 and later moved South. Thus Himmatwala remake, co-produced by Vashu Baghnani and UTV Motion Pictures, will be Tamanna’s second Hindi film.
