Tajmahal narrates a strange teenage love story with a twist. This is a remake of a Kannada film. Actor Shivaji turned producer with this venture.
Ajay (Shivaji) is a student of engineering and he is madly in love with Shruti (Shruti) who does nor respond to his romantic overtures. She appears to be friendly with Kumar as both of them chat endlessly over the mobiles. She even seeks advice from him on every issue. The catch is she never met Kumar face to face. Finally, Ajay draws enough courage to propose
to Shruthi. Will she accept Ajay’s proposal? That is million dollar question which the rest of story deals with.
Shivaji essayed his role with commensurate ease. Shruthi is the sueprise package. On her debut, she performed like a veteran Raghu Babu, Kota Srinivas Rao, Jeeva and Nassar did justice to their roles. Brahmanandam, MS Narayana and Venu Madhav are their usual selves. Aarthi Agarwal sizzles in an item song. All others are just adequate.
The story is unique and the screenplay and direction has been ably handled by debutant Arun Singaraju who studied film making in USA. The dialogues are apt and the lyrics meaningful. Music by Abhiman Rai is OK. Cinematography is a plus for this film. Sound design could have been better. Editing is crisp.
Tajmahal is worth a visit to the theatre.
