Suchita Bhatia: “New York” script copied from my story

An upcoming writer-director Suchita Bhhatia claims that the script of Yash Raj Films “New York” has been copied from her story which she has written in 2006. She already sent a letter to producer Adithya Chopra about this plagiarism. She is threatening to go to court.

Acoording to Suchita Bhhatia she wrote a story idea and script and narrated the same to Arjun Sablok of Yash Raj Films in August 2006. Though YRF said they liked the story they did not communicate with her so far. But when she saw “New York” she immediately knew that her story had been hijacked.
Suchita says that her story and script had been registered with the Writer’s Association in 2006. And she plans to take legal action against Yas Raj Films.

For the film “New York” the story and script has been credited to Sandeep Shrivastav and the screenplay to Sandeep and director Kabir Khan.

Spokesperson for Yash Raj Films says they will also sue Suchita for damaging their reputation.
