Soumitra Chatterjee, the iconic 76 year old Bengali actor, is featured in an international film titled Nowhere Son which is being directed by Houstonbased Bengali director San Banarje. The film will be shot in USA, Spain and India. The movie is psychologically violent and deals with what happens when Soumitra Chatterjee’s character, who plays a father, goes missing. It’s primarily about a son’s search for his father. The shooting of the film is in progress.
Soumitra Chatterjee’s film Bodhisattva, also directed by San Banarje, has won the WorldFest Platinum Remi for Best Feature Film in 2010, Best Foreign Film award at the Alexandria Film Festival in 2010, Best Supporting Actress award at the Hoboken International Film Festival in 2010 and Best Foreign Film and Best Indie Auteur Award at the Bare Bone Film Festival in 2011 and the Bronze Palm at the Mexican International Film Festival in 2011.
