Slumdog Millionaire in US top 10
Receiving a box-office boost after reaping a rich harvest in the Golden Globe Awards, British director Danny Boyle’s Slumdog Millionaire has bounced back into the top ten chart in the US, grossing 5.9 million dollars over the weekend.
Now playing in limited release in 582 theatres in the US, Slumdog Millionaire is expected to expand to more than 1,200 theatres next weekend following Thursday’s Academy Award nominations. The film which won four Golden Globes, including one for Best Original Score to Indian maestro A R Rahman, has grossed a total of USD 42.7 million in 10 weeks.
