Famed film maker, Deepa Mehta, who directed the elements trilogy films Earth, Water and Fire, is now making a film based on the award winning novel Midnight Children.
Midnight Children is the debut novel of Indian-born London-based author Salman Rushdie, who won the Booker’s prize for his work. Deepa obtained the film making rights of the book.
Shriya has been already chosen to play an important role. The film producers and the director are now in the process of finalizing the cast and crew for the film.
Deepa Mehta’s screen version of Midnight Children is likely to go on floors sometime after August this year.
